Alsatian cabinet with gendarme hat in walnut

Beautiful small walnut cabinet, the middle panel of the doors has a kidney pattern, typical in Alsace on cabinets of this period. The crosspiece of the pediment is carved with two flowering branches connected by a knot, this symbolism was common for the ornamentation of furniture offered on the occasion of a wedding. The side uprights are carved with a frieze of small mosaic motifs enclosing a fall of piastres. Beautiful cards and keyholes in bronze. Alsace Period XVIII th century.
