DECK Théodore - Round planter

Foliage decor and lizard handles for this rare
round ceramic planter signed Th.Deck under the base, Théodore Deck (1823-1891).
Realization in this famous blue "Deck" which contributed to the worldwide notoriety of the ceramist. Deck, born in Guebwiller, set up his workshop in Paris in collaboration with his brother Xavier, he obtained numerous awards at the exhibitions in which he participated and was also administrator of the Manufacture de Sevres for several years.
