Work signed by Joseph-François Hohr, one of the members of the dynasty of artists who established their studio in Colmar in the 18th century. The Unterlinden Museum has evidence of their work in its collections. This portrait of Saint Louis is signed at the bottom right and dated: Joseph FHohr inv pinx 1786.
