DECK Théodore - Vase by Joseph Chéret and Théodore Deck 1823-1891

Jules Chéret (1838-1894), French sculptor and brother of the painter Jules Chéret, collaborated on numerous occasions with Théodore Deck. This impressive vase is one of the fine examples of this duo work. The decor of nymphs and cherubs is characteristic of the sculptor's work, as well as the handles here materialized by grotesque heads. Signed Th.Deck under the base.
