Alsatian Louis XVI chest with drawers

Chest of 3 drawers in walnut and fruit wood marquetry: walnut, plum, cherry and maple. It is probably a wedding piece of furniture, with the initials and the heart motif inlaid in a reserve in the center of the tray. Decorated with geometric friezes in contrasting wood and Greek nets, the belt is embellished with a garland carved with laurels hanging from a keystone. The feet are in sheaths, inlaid and surrounded by a net of light wood, each dice surmounting the feet as well as the keystone are carved in their center with a stylized flower. Late 18th century work from southern Alsace or Switzerland.
