ZWILLER Augustin - Young boy with a hoop by Zwiller

The young boy with the hoop, extraordinary portrait signed Auguste Zwiller (1850-1939), we had already presented the young girl with the hoop, this toy is however intended to be used in the representations of children made by Zwiller, it is an extraordinary and happy chance to find these two works in very different places. Zwiller, Alsatian artist, born in Didenheim near Mulhouse. After working as a draftsman in the pattern-making workshops for the Mulhouse textile factories, he trained at the Cours Julian and embarked on a successful career in Paris, quickly becoming a renowned portrait painter.
