18th century compass rose walnut inlaid box

Beautiful interlacing decoration, the contours are decorated with a 45° frieze, in the center of the top a compass rose in contrasting tones, beautiful quality of marquetry for this courtesy box. The woods used are walnut, maple and stained oak. Alsace - Rhine Valley Period 18th century
