Secretary inlaid walnut 18th

Rare piece of furniture, this secretary is inlaid with walnut and an original Louis XVI decor of neoclassical inspiration. The flap has in its center an oval medallion whose contours simulate a leafy braid, in the center a column topped with a Doric capital is surmounted by a bushel of palm leaves. The sides are covered with a covered vase placed on an entablature and whose body is surrounded by Greek motifs. The back of the cabinet is also perfectly finished with a walnut frieze edged with an alternating light and dark wood fillet, enclosing a laurel wreath supported by three loops. Simulated grooves, alternating light and dark wood, adorn the uprights, the latter resting on square section sheathed legs, the thimble of which is decorated with an architectural motif with 3 columns and underlined by a contrasting wooden lambrequin.
The peripheries of the furniture are lined with a net. The flap discovers a layout of small drawers. The space between the feet on the front side had to accommodate a stool. Marquetry of fruit wood, walnut, maple built in walnut and fir. 18th century period.
